This DVD brings together for the very first time a collection of television recordings of David Whitfield that will delight every fan. A word of advice before we start. When you play this DVD for the first time, make sure you are sitting comfortably with your favourite tipple since you will be captivated by these shows from start to finish.
You will see two complete shows of ĎVal Parnellísí Saturday Spectacular - The David Whitfield Showí starring David. Everyone is familiar with Davidís golden voice but on this DVD you will not only hear him singing with some beautiful orchestrations, you will also see a witty and jovial David with comedy sketches featuring Freddy Frinton, Libby Morris and Pat Coombs. Amongst Davidís singing performances he duets with Adele Leigh. The DVD is worth the money just for the first show alone.
The second show however is equally delightful and you will see more superb performances of David and even more fun with none other than a young Morcambe and Wise who get up to some mischievous tricks. Also singing are the Jones Boys and the wonderful Ruby Murray. Again this is an entertaining variety show from the top stars of the time.
The DVD also features some bonus clips, you just canít get enough of a good thing.
For those who remember seeing David this DVD is a Time Machine that will roll back the years. For those who may be familiar with just David's voice or maybe a younger generation who have never seen David perform, treat yourself to these charming recordings, you wonít be disappointed. They capture perfectly why David was Britain's number one singing star of the 1950's. The DVD is also for those who simply enjoy nostalgia from a time that seems so innocent compared to our modern ways.
This compilation is what Davidís fanís have been waiting for, to see David perform again after all these years. The overall DVD production is excellent, the sound reproduction superb for material that is over 50 years old. This is a 'must have' for all David's fans.
This is your chance to see David again ĎOn TVí.
